Get ready to soar straight back into the stratosphere because Australia’s revered indie-rock titans The Temper Trap are keeping their massive momentum rolling with a brilliant new standalone single and music video: «Slide».

• The Anatomy of an Eleventh-Hour Anthem: Fresh off the heels of their ARIA-nominated blockbuster album Sungazer—which dominated the charts by debuting at #1 on the ARIA Australian chart in July, followed by a triumphant 24-date North American tour supporting Muse and a sold-out homecoming national run—the band drops a thrilling new gem written right during the album sessions. Propelled by a driving drum beat, shimmering synth-infused rock textures, and frontman Dougy Mandagi’s unmistakable, soaring vocals, “Slide” is an emotionally charged reflection on the fractures in a relationship. Mandagi shares the striking inspiration behind the track: “’Slide’ came together effortlessly at the eleventh hour. The last song we wrote for the record about how silence can become its own form of betrayal.” The result is a masterclass in tension, release, and arena-ready catharsis.
• A Non-Stop Creative Streak: Proving that their creative wells run deeper than ever following the landmark success of Sungazer, this surprise drop cements the band’s status as elite architects of modern alternative anthems.

The MusicWayATX Verdict: “Slide” is a triumph of emotional depth, driving rhythm, and soaring melodic hooks. The Temper Trap prove once again why they are royalty of modern indie-rock.
