Get ready to dust off your vintage soul records and head out to the open highway because Scottish rock royalty Texas are celebrating a monumental milestone with an absolute masterclass of a new single: «Another Way to Cry», released on October 21, 2026.

• The Anatomy of a Northern Soul Masterpiece: Serving as a thrilling, completely brand-new and unreleased preview leading up to the 30th-anniversary deluxe edition of their iconic smash album White on Blonde (arriving in 2027), «Another Way to Cry» finds Texas diving headfirst into a passionate love affair with classic northern soul. Dripping with lush brass and string arrangements, the track explores fresh sonic territory while staying true to the razor-sharp songwriting that made them household names. Frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri nails the ethos of the track best: “A good way to test a new song is to play it alongside the big hits: either it measures up or it goes to shit. You could drop ‘Another Way to Cry’ into the set tomorrow, right alongside all the massive hits, and it stands shoulder-to-shoulder.”
• Highland Vistas and Cinematic Roots: The release is accompanied by a stunning music video shot on location in the Scottish Highlands and directed by Niall Trask (known for his work with Jamie T, Fat White Family, and Nadine Shah). The visual piece stars Sharleen alongside her longtime friend and acclaimed actor Robert Carlyle, serving as a gorgeous, breathtaking love letter to Wim Wenders’ iconic film Paris, Texas—the cinematic masterpiece from which the band originally took their name.

The MusicWayATX Verdict: “Another Way to Cry” is a triumph of soulful elegance, cinematic storytelling, and enduring musical brilliance. Texas prove they are aging like the finest wine as they gear up for their 30-year celebration.
