Austin Music News & Notes
What’s buzzing in the ATX music scene this week:
The weather is prime for outdoor shows, and this weekend serves up an incredible mix of Texas roots, heavy indie rock, and sweeping Latin soundscapes.
- A Texas Tribute Down South: If you want to celebrate the legacy of Texas blues and roots rock, The Far Out Lounge has a massive Friday night planned. ZZ King is bringing the ultimate ZZ Top tribute to the outdoor stage, complete with the signature beards and furry spinning guitars.
- Moody Amphitheater’s Global Sunday: Sunday evening downtown is going to be something special. The instrumental, Latin-inspired guitar stylings of Hermanos Gutiérrez will take over the Moody Amphitheater, with fantastic support from Y La Bamba.
- East Side Shakeup: The Schizophonics are bringing their chaotic, high-energy garage rock to Hotel Vegas tonight, joined by legendary Melvins drummer Dale Crover playing a solo set. It’s a heavy, legendary lineup for such an intimate room.
