Get ready for an explosive blast of raw UK indie grit, soaring emo-tinged melodies, and unvarnished guitar fury! London powerhouses Tooth have spent the year making a glorious racket across Britain’s independent music circuit, and now legendary label Parlophone wants in. To celebrate signing with the iconic label, the band has unleashed their thrilling new single and official video: «Take Me As I Am».
- The Anatomy of Chaos and Identity: Following their critically acclaimed debut EP Restless in Bloom, “Take Me As I Am” finds frontman Tom Pollock, guitarist Ben Ashley, bassist Charlie Arnison, and drummer Roy Lowe elevating their sound without sacrificing an ounce of their restless energy. Launched by Lowe’s driving drum intro, the track spirals into interlocking guitar lines, Ashley’s Sonic Youth-influenced leads, and Arnison’s pounding basswork. Produced at London’s historic Battery Studios with Shrink (NewDad, Cardinals) and mixed by Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Wolf Alice), the track balances abrasive textures with an undeniable hook. Lyrically, Pollock pivots from teenage coming-of-age tropes to a deeply personal examination of identity, exploring the friction between who you are and the public expectations that come with rising fame.
- From Underground Sweatboxes to Major Stages: Backed by Raw Power Management and earning spots on the NME 100, Rolling Stone UK, BBC Radio 1, and major festival lineups like Reading & Leeds, Outbreak, and All Points East, Tooth are proving why they are one of the most unpredictable and vital young bands in the UK. This release arrives in the midst of an extensive UK/European autumn tour, building up to their massive headline performance at London’s iconic venue The Garage on October 27.
The MusicWayATX Verdict: “Take Me As I Am” is a triumph of noisy guitar craft, emotional tension, and melodic precision. Tooth are locking into their identity and making a glorious noise that is unmistakably their own.
