Dead Man’s Bones ►Lost In The Night

Straight from the crypt and sending shockwaves through the dark-alternative underground after a staggering 17-year slumber, the cult-beloved duo Dead Man’s Bones—featuring Hollywood icon Ryan Gosling alongside multi-instrumentalist and singer Zach Shields—have officially made a surprise return from the grave with their chilling new single and music video: «Lost In the Night».

Arriving just in time for Halloween via ANTI- Records, this triumphant comeback shatters over a decade and a half of radio silence following their 2009 self-titled debut, which cemented itself as a dark seasonal classic packed with death-pop gems like «Lose Your Soul» and «Buried in Water». After years of quiet reverence—including Cat Power covering «Pa Pa Power» and their eerie tracks surfacing in films like The Conjuring—Gosling and Shields finally reunited in the studio, though the initial urban sessions lacked the right atmosphere. Taking a cue from gritty cinematic horrors like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the pair packed their guitars, drum machines, and synths into a car, retreated to an isolated rural farmhouse, and conjured «Lost In the Night» just a day later. The result is retro-flavoured goth at its most beautifully blackhearted, proving that some corpses are destined to rise again.

The MusicWayATX Verdict: “Lost In the Night” is a triumph of haunting atmosphere, cinematic dread, and long-awaited dark-pop resurrection. Dead Man’s Bones have returned to claim their crown.
