Get ready to cross paths with divine rhythm, deep vulnerability, and ancestral power because the visionary Afro-Cuban French musical duo Ibeyi have officially unleashed the stunning official music video for their transcendent track: «Baba».

• The Anatomy of an Ancestral Awakening: Originally released on June 26, 2026, as a crown jewel of their celebrated studio album Offering, «Baba» is a masterclass in cultural fusion. The song seamlessly bridges English-language lyricism exploring raw self-assurance, vulnerability, and overcoming insecurity with sacred traditional Yoruba chants. At its spiritual heart, the track heavily invokes Eleggua—the revered Yoruba orisha of the crossroads, paths, and new opportunities—through the hypnotic, recurring prayer: «Oko okan odara odara baba laroye… Eleggua Baba Eleggua». Sonically, the track benefits from a stellar collaborative production team joining twins Naomi and Lisa-Kaindé Diaz alongside producers Michael Brun and Khalil, blending modern electronic textures with organic percussion.
• A Cinematic Masterpiece in Cuba: Released today (October 22, 2026), the official music video brings the song’s spiritual weight to vivid life. Co-directed and produced by Corry Van Rhijn and Roman Pichon Herrera, the visual piece was filmed entirely on location in Cuba. It stars the brilliant El Gao Art Kids alongside Regla’s local baseball team, weaving breathtaking contemporary movement, striking choreography, and community spirit into an unforgettable visual narrative.

The MusicWayATX Verdict: “Baba” is a triumph of spiritual resonance, cultural pride, and boundary-pushing art-pop. Ibeyi deliver an exquisite bridge between the ancient and the modern.
