Pop-punk nostalgia, sunny California coastal vibes, and global reggae royalty collide in a monumental collaboration that shatters all expectations! Brothers Joel and Benji Madden, heading up the iconic Good Charlotte, have just shaken the music world with the official music video and single release of “U R,” joining forces with none other than the legendary Ziggy Marley.

• The Anatomy of a Historic Reclamation: This standout release serves as the luminous lead preview for the highly anticipated expanded edition of Greetings From California, which makes its triumphant return to streaming platforms on November 6, 2026, via MDDN/Atlantic—this time proudly bearing the official Good Charlotte banner (after originally dropping under The Madden Brothers moniker in 2014 and mysteriously vanishing from streaming in 2015). As the Madden twins shared in a statement: “More than 12 years ago we made this album… All these years later, we realized, this could have been a GC record all along, so we’ve put some time and love into repackaging this to re-release it.” Injecting Marley’s warm, effortless vocal delivery into the mix breathes vibrant new life into an underground fan-favorite.
• A Collector’s Dream and Sonic Evolution: Beyond the lead single, the expanded edition boasts three incredible bonus tracks: the aforementioned “U R” featuring Marley, “Jealousy (All Your Friends in Silverlake)” featuring Eyedress, and a live recording of “We Are Done” captured on tour during the cycle for Good Charlotte’s 2026 album, Motel Du Cap. Musically, the album stretches far beyond the brothers’ familiar pop-punk roots: the first half dives into bright, hook-laden pop-rock with producer Eric Valentine, while the second half leans into lush 1970s pop sensibilities under the guidance of producer Joe Chiccarelli. To top it all off for physical music lovers, a stunning limited-edition 2LP vinyl pressing drops at independent record stores on November 27 for Record Store Day Black Friday, complete with brand-new cover art.

The MusicWayATX Verdict: “U R” is a triumphant exercise in artistic redemption and feel-good unity. Good Charlotte and Ziggy Marley prove that great songs always find their way home, returning with more warmth and soul than ever before.
