Rock en Español & Latin Alternative: Fuerzas Femeninas y Colaboraciones Inesperadas

The Spanish and Latin Alternative scenes are delivering powerful messages and completely unexpected alliances this week.

• Tanxugueiras – “O Cuarto”: La fuerza no siempre reside en la violencia o en hacerse notar a gritos. Tanxugueiras exaltan en su nuevo lanzamiento, “O Cuarto”, la fuerza de quienes hacían lo necesario para que el mundo a su alrededor pudiese funcionar: las mujeres. It is a beautifully crafted track that blends traditional roots with contemporary alternative production.
• RATA – “NO ME QUIERO MORIR NUNCA”: Si buscas algo más crudo, la escena española nos presenta a RATA. Con su tema “NO ME QUIERO MORIR NUNCA”, se consolidan como el dueto más rompedor y estridente del año. They deliver a presentation letter with as much heart as bad attitude, completely shaking up the alternative rock landscape.
• CARLANGAS y Leiva – “Podría Ser Peor”: Para los amantes del rock-pop iberoamericano clásico, la colaboración entre CARLANGAS y Leiva en “Podría Ser Peor” es un lanzamiento imperdible de esta semana. Es el tipo de canción nostálgica perfecta para cantar a todo pulmón.

Global Spotlight: Pitchfork London’s Massive 2026 Expansion

Switching gears to the global indie scene, the biggest news this week comes from the UK. With just a few months to go until its sixth edition, Pitchfork Music Festival London has officially unveiled the second wave of artists joining its city-wide celebration from November 2nd to November 8th, 2026.

El cartel se sigue expandiendo y se perfila como uno de los eventos más importantes del año para la música experimental y alternativa.

Newly announced for the festival is the highly influential American indie rock band DIIV, who will be joining the Dalston Takeover on Saturday, November 7. They complete an already standout program and will share the festival week with an incredible special performance from the acclaimed duo Panda Bear & Sonic Boom. Panda Bear and Sonic Boom are set to bring their celebrated collaborative live show alongside The Avalanches at the Roundhouse.

Additionally, Drain Gang connected rap pioneer Thaiboy Digital will headline a special standalone event, bringing his distinctive sound to the festival. It is shaping up to be a completely forward-thinking musical gathering, bridging experimental innovators with the most exciting new artists.

Out-of-the-Box Electronic Fusion

We also have to mention a truly unexpected global crossover. Aurora and Tom Rowlands (from The Chemical Brothers) have formed a new duo called Tomora. Su nuevo tema “Come Closer” demuestra que son uno de los proyectos más interesantes de la actualidad, fusionando la voz etérea de Aurora con los ritmos inconfundibles de Rowlands. Incluso cuentan con un remix especial de Rosa Pistola en su más reciente material, uniendo el talento europeo con el sazón alternativo latino para la pista de baile.
